This partnership is the first of its kind for HFC and represents a component of President Stan Jensen’s vision for the College’s future. The new University Center is currently located on the first floor in the HFC Welcome Center.

“Our collaboration with Siena Heights University on this new University Center will serve as a model for future endeavors like this, and provides a strong foundation for increased student success,” Jensen said. “Providing students the opportunity to complete their first years of college at HFC and save money, then work toward their bachelor’s degree on campus at a high-quality four-year institution like Siena Heights gives them the best of both worlds. They save money, work toward their degree and remain close to home. We’re confident this model will be attractive to all students,” he added.

Some of the important benefits of HFC’s partnership with SHU include the following:

• SHU undergraduate and graduate classes offered at HFC;

• Availability of evening, weekend and hybrid classes;

• Personalized advising; and

• Transfer-friendly policies and guarantees.

“Siena Heights University is pleased to expand its presence in metro Detroit with its partnership with HFC,” said SHU President Sister Peg Albert, OP, PhD. “By allowing Siena Heights to offer bachelor’s and master’s degree programs on its campus, HFC is providing even more opportunities for students to continue their education on the Dearborn campus,” she added.

HFC expects to enter into partnership agreements with three to five additional Michigan-based universities in an effort to offer students greater opportunities for upper-level undergraduate and graduate programs at the university level.
