\"HFC_fundraiser\"<\/a>Celebrating 25 Years of Helping Students Achieve A College Education<\/h2>\n

Wednesday, May 18, 2016<\/b><\/p>\n

During the past 25 years, HFC\u2019s Mike Adray Memorial Tournament and Scholarship Fundraiser has raised more than $1.25 million in scholarship funds for students seeking the dream of a college education at HFC. Since this event began, more than 1,000 students have received a scholarship to attend HFC at a time when they believed a college education was simply out of reach due to rising tuition costs.<\/p>\n

The Adray Tournament shows no signs of slowing down as it celebrates its silver anniversary on Wednesday, May 18, at the Dearborn Country Club. As the largest annual fund-raising event for the HFC Foundation, the Adray Tournament brings together community leaders, alumni and friends, organizations and companies to support the academic endeavors of students. The presenting sponsor for the third consecutive year is Enertron, LLC, based in Warren, Mich., and the benefactor sponsor is the Adray Family Foundation.<\/p>\n

\u201cEnertron supports this event because we feel giving back to students who are working hard to achieve their education, but perhaps face some financial challenges along the way, is the right thing to do. We\u2019ve had the good fortune of hiring many HFC students, all of whom have made a positive impact on our organization. Other corporate partners should consider sponsoring this event \u2013 by doing so, they will also reap the benefits for many years as Enertron has,\u201d said Joe LaFrance, owner of Enertron, LLC.<\/p>\n

The Adray Tournament honors the legacy of Mike Adray and his family, who owned Adray Appliance, Photo and Sound in Dearborn. The store opened in 1955 and expanded to other stores in the area throughout the years. As the business grew, the Adray family shared their success by sponsoring numerous athletic teams, athletic leagues and charitable opportunities in the area for the benefit of the children and the community. This event honors Adray and his family\u2019s dedication to the community and serves as a small reminder of how individuals can positively impact the lives of all students.<\/p>\n
